The Formation

The Association was established by Dr. Raouf Abu Jaber in 1996 under the Laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and is a subordinate of the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Abu Jaber is a very well reputed Jordanian businessman with a long standing history with the Kingdom of the Netherlands. For many years prior to the establishment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Jordan, he served as a General Honorary Consul and has received various medals and awards from H.R.H. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Dr. Abu Jaber was succeeded by H.E. Dr. Samir Mutawi, Former Minister of Information and the first Jordanian Ambassador to the Netherlands.

The Association is run by an board of directors of 9 members elected once every three years during its General Assembly.

The Board of Directors usually meets once every two months to discuss the Association activities and plan new functions that may interest members and  review membership applications and membership status,

During its life span, the Association got itself involved in various activities such as conducting trade trips to The Netherlands, participation in Dutch events of cultural, educational and economic nature.

Towards the end of every year the Association holds its annual dinner where members and their guests meet and exchange ideas and experiences on dealing with Dutch companies and counterparts. It has been a custom that a prominent speaker addresses the attendance on a topic of interest, Among speaker hosted by the Association were: H.E.Dutch Ambassador to the Royal Court, H.E. Former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jawad Anani, Former Mayor of Amman Mr. Akel Biltaji, Former Prime Minister H.E. Faisal Al-Fayez and Former Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Adnan Badran.

The main financial resources of the Association come from members subscriptions as well as grants, donations and proceeds of parties and festivals sponsored by the Association. The present annual subscription fee is JOD 50.- and is usually collected at the beginning of each calendar year.

The Association has and will always be open for enthusiastic potential members with ideas for promoting its prime interests and developing foreseeable projects to serve the local community in cooperation with Dutch companies and entrepreneurs.

Aims & Objectives

  • To foster friendship between the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
  • To promote economic, cultural and social cooperation between the two countries.
  • To exchange visits and cultural information, lectures and sports.
